Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with Seher presented the first ever ASEAN-India Music Festival at Purana Qila in New Delhi

Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with Seher presented the first ever ASEAN – India Music Festival from October 6th- 8th 2017. The festival is being organized to celebrate the 25th year anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations. The theme for this commemorative year “Shared Values, Common Destiny” along with this music festival aims to boost the cultural influences and exchanges and to bridge ties between ASEAN member states and India. The festival further aims to foster a deeper understanding, mutual comprehension and tolerance among these nations with the power of music.

The ASEAN – India Music Festival will witness eclectic performances by musicians of 10 enigmatic bands from member states of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Thailand, Viet Nam) along with 5 prominent Indian bands. The three-day festival will witness performances by bands such as The Ugly Band (Myanmar), Cherpen (Malaysia), Tim De Cotta (Singapore), Avial (India), Papon Live (India), Kong Sothearith (Cambodia), Red Bamboo (Viet Nam), L’alphalpha (Indonesia), Bipul Chettri and The Travelling Band (India), The Raghu Dixit Project (India), Nam Fon Indee (Lao PDR), A Band Once (Brunei Darussalam), Asia7 (Thailand), The Ransom Collective (Philippines), Shankar Ehsaan Loy (India)

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder Director, Seher India said, “Music is one such powerful tool that brings people and artists together. We are honored to bring the first ever ASEAN-India Music festival in the capital, where the city can witness 15 top Bands from 11 nations together on one stage. The Musical extravaganza will be three days of sheer bliss where music lovers can enjoy tunes of Masters such as Shankar Ehsaan & Loy, Papon LIVE and Raghu Dixit project from India along with vibrant music from the Bands of ASEAN member states. The concert is for free, so just walk in and enjoy!”

The festival witnessed performances by famous Indian bands like The Raghu Dixit Project, Avial, Papon LIVE, Bipul Chettri and the Travelling Band and Shankar Ehsaan & Loy. The 3-day musical festival ‘free for public’ event for music lovers from all walks of life to get together and enjoy.
