A collection of around 40 images, the show captures the visual imagination of the photographer and her narrative transcends the realm of objectification and plays with space. Adding to the powerful imagery is her choice of Black and White medium as her expression.
A metropolitan soul who thrived in the manic rhythm of the city, Parul suddenly sought poetry in the stillness of spaces and shadows, and in the geometry of structures and objects. The black and white medium, she believes, renders emphatic emotions and helps her connect deeper with the viewer.
Says Parul Sharma, “Through ‘ParulScape’ I have tried to showcase how the asymmetry of everydayness around me collapsed and a layered alternative emerged in the mesmerising rawness of black and white.”
The show has been curated by Swapan Seth.
